Introduction for English-speaking visitors:

Hi! We noticed that more and more international people visit our website, so we decided to include an introduction in English. We are a group of Polish (and some non -Polish) ladies that decided to compile our own list of cosmetics that are not tested on animals. The purpose of creating our own list was to spread the message about the scope of animal testing and to grant access to information to people that do not speak English in our country. The list is based on some internationally acknowledged cruelty - free shopping guide lists, like Peta or The Leaping Bunny list, but we also used emails that we got from the companies to elicit information. If the company explicitely stated that they do not engage in any animal testing and answered all related questions like do they check whether their suppliers do not engage in animal testing, do they require written statement of non-testing policy etc, they were also included in the appropriate list. We strive to keep this list as up to date as possible, that is why it constantly changes. The list is divided into 5 groups:

green - companies that do not engage in animal testing and whose suppliers also do not engage in animal testing
purple - the list of the companies that may or may not engage in animal testing; we do not have sufficient information to categorize them as testing or non-testing
red - companies that do test their products, formulations or ingredients on animals or whose suppliers or manufacturers test their ingredients or formulations on animals; also companies that are not interested in checking whether their suppliers condone animal testing
orange - companies that do not engage in animal testing, but whose parent company does
pink - companies that sell their products in China, therefore need to comply with the Chinese regulations. (The laws in China require all cosmetics to be tested on animals before they can be sold to people)
