Hello everyone!

First letter of my name is M, i'm 16 and I live in Poland. Unfortunately.
I love England and all culture of Great Britain, but I don't speak English very well. I've been learned that language for 3 years.

I have learnt english for seven years, but I don's speak anthing! If I have to something say in english I can't. I prefer read or write, becouse my thinking in english is very slowly...
I'm sevenenteen and I try to learn english in home, becouse I very want to know this lenguge. I read this forum, magazins in english, but I must learn speak, that's for me most imortant.
I hope, that if I really wanted, I'll can do that. What do you thin about
this??

Well, if you want so much to correct you, I'll do that as I'm used to correcting my students' mistakes.

I also think that if you really want to learn to speak English, you will succeed. What counts most in foreign language learning is our motivation and willingness for learning. You also need to learn systematically and not give up although you may feel tired of learning or you may think you don't make any progress. Good luck! I believe you'll manage to speak English as well as you can.

You're welcome. Take it easy, don't worry about mistakes, everybody who learns a foreign language makes them. As the English people say, 'Rome was not built in one day' (the equivalent of "Nie od razu Kraków zbudowano") . You can always communicate with other people even you make mistakes.

But ... I beg a pardon for saying it but I can't help myself ... You've written you're also a student, actually Eglish student ... But seems to me like you were only a beginner ! Your mistakes are, excuse me, incredible ...

And 'bout your question-in my opinion Roach is better when speaking 'bout grammar and practical theory, when it comes to excercises - Szpyra and Sobkowiak are great teachers.

Well, to tell the truth, I didn't have to read anything for descriptive grammar. Therefore I don't know any authors of this field. Our lecturer gave us simply some lectures and we were supposed to take notes, which was quite difficult. His voice was very monotonous what made us sleepy. Besides, it was really hard to pick something relevant from his speech, we didn't know what to pay attention to. He didn't determine his demandings.
As I said in some other thread, we mainly drew some graphic trees and analyzed sentences in every possible aspects. There was also some theory given by him but I have only my notes, no books.

Mouselet, take it easy. You're a first year student only so no wonder that you make some mistakes. There are no perfect people. I also made mistakes but time and a lot of practice helped me much. I'm sure it will be the same in your case.
